YOUTH ARE A VITAL PART OF THE WHOLE CHURCH Youth Ministry is taken seriously at Highland because we know that youth and children not only represent the future of the church, they represent the present! The spiritual and moral lives of our young people are likely the most fragile and precious gifts with which God has entrusted us.
We seek to offer many entry points for youth of all ages to get involved in the life of the church. It is our goal to encourage a sense of belonging and ownership so that as adults, our youth will look back on their years at Highland and say, “Church is a good place to be!”
The youth program takes place primarily on Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; however, it does not end there. From workcamps in the Appalachian mountains or the Montreat Youth Conference to participating in lock-ins at YMCA and the BIG SWEEP Forsyth County waterway clean up; from serving our members through the Rake & Run to participating in the community wide CROP Walk to fight hunger; from spiritual retreats that take the group away for the weekend to holding our Sunday evening devotions in Highland's memorial garden... our group seeks to be "at home in the world."
