Presbyterian churches are basically a representative democracy, somewhat similar to the government of the United States. The oversight of our church comes from the Session, twenty-four men and women elected as Elders. Session members serve on eight committees: Worship, Christian Education, Membership, Evangelism, Personnel, Nominating, Fellowship and Communications, and Long-Range Planning. We also have a Diaconate, twenty-four Deacons elected in the same manner as the Session. The Deacons serve on six committees and two sub-committees: Community Service, Congregational Care, Finance, Property, Witness and Stewardship as well as subcommittees for our Memorial Garden and one for the Permanent Fund. Between them, these two governing bodies form the lay leadership of the Church.
In addition, the church staff help guide the church. These include the pastors, the directors of youth, education and music, and support staff.
