Highland’s Crisis Fund

Support for Those Impacted by Covid-19

Highland’s Session established a Crisis Fund in 2020 to be used to support church families and community organizations adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. This temporary fund functions as a special offering (i.e., separate from the operating budget), and continues to be supported by donations from members and friends of the church.

In addition to its physical challenges, many of Highland’s members have felt the economic impact of Covid-19. At the same time, many of our community partners in ministry such as Second Harvest Food Bank and Crisis Control Ministry have seen a significant increase in requests for assistance, even as they have seen a decline in support.

Highland’s Crisis Fund enables the church to provide at least some assistance to those who have been adversely affected in these ways. Gifts to the fund are tax-deductible and will be administered by Highland’s pastoral staff (maintaining confidentiality regarding any individuals or families who receive funds). The Community Service Committee will work with staff members to prioritize needs for our community mission partners for any funds to be shared with them.

Contact Joy Hohmann in the church office if you have questions about ways to support this fund. Gifts to the fund can be made by sending checks to the church office, or through our online giving portal – click here for member access, or here to give as a guest.
