Intergenerational Book Group
Help Pick the Date!
Highland’s Global Service Committee met with Highland’s Youth to discuss book genres for this summer’s intergenerational book group, and we heard them loud and clear: Fantasy is a favorite! We’re so excited to bring our church together to read The Wild Robot by Peter Brown, a fantastical tale that explores the intersection of nature and technology, bullying, family and friendship, the need for community, and the power of compassion. As we finalize a date, we’d love to hear about which option works best for your family. Please fill out this Doodle poll by Wednesday, June 3. Thank you so much! https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/bYYGxZAb
Scholarships for High School Seniors Due July 1
In 1999 the Session combined two funds, one in memory of Nevin Rankin and the second in memory of Francis Sheffield to form the Rankin/Sheffield Scholarship Fund. This fund assists first year college students with a small stipend for buying text books. Interested students are to write a letter to the Youth and Young Adult Ministry Committee describing why you would like to be considered for this scholarship. Applications are now being accepted for our current high school graduates and are due by July 1.
Summer Camp Mail – Camp mail is the best! Do you have a youth attending an away camp this summer? Share their address for a summer care package!
