Bearing Fruit That Lasts – Stewardship in Highland’s Life and Ministry

In John’s Gospel, Jesus says to his disciples, “You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you that you should go and bear fruit–fruit that will last.” He reminds us that our lives are not meant merely to sit on a shelf. We are called to bear fruit–to make a difference, to nourish others, and to participate in God’s work in the world.
Stewardship is ultimately about just this–encouraging the generous sharing of time, talent, and treasure so that Highland can bear lasting fruit as a congregation.
Your Stewardship Committee encourages you to look inside this issue of Highlights to see opportunities for fruit-bearing ministry–and to consider how your commitments for 2027 will enable us to bear lasting fruit in the year to come.

Legacy Giving
Members and friends of the church are encouraged every year to consider including Highland in their will or estate plans, and thus to leave a legacy of generosity that will support future generations of the church’s ministry. We hope you’ll watch this brief video to learn about why many of our members have done this!
If you have questions, or would like to learn more about different ways to make a legacy gift, please email Jim Gallaher or Scott Walker from Highland’s Stewardship Committee.
